Enshi Yu Lu ( Enshi Gyokuro )
Enshi Yulu green tea has a long history. The tea bible "The Classic of Tea", written around year 860 , even mentions that Enshi/east Sichun area is the origin of tea plant. Keep in mind that the author of "The Classic of Tea" , Mr. Lu Yu was born in Hubei province. Then, Enshi green tea was not distributed as loose leaf tea, but as a pancake, similar to Pu'er tea. Enshi Yulu began being distributed as a loose leaf likely around the year 1680. Enshi Yulu came back again around 1950 lead by Professor Yang Shengwei.
Enshi Yulu ( Enshi Gyokuro) begins with a small leaf tea shrub known as E -Cha #10 or LongJing #43. It then goes through steaming and following that, rolling into a needle-shaped loose tea. Unlike Japanese Gyokuro, Uncle Cai's ranch is always covered with clouds, and also has a weather station installed to measure the solar radiation.
